Our club exists to provide training to current and new members, to provide opportunities to compete at the local, state and national level, to practice fencing skills, and to share a social environment centered around the sport of fencing as a common interest.

It's a great place to learn more about the sport, to take up a new weapon, or to get advice on specific skills or problem areas in your fencing "game".

There are seven fencing clubs in the State of Alaska ... two in Anchorage, two in Fairbanks, one each in Eagle River, Homer and Kodiak. Two "groups" of fencers are located in Valdez and Juneau.

Fencing tournaments and competitions are held throughout the year in various locations. Novice tournaments are for fencers of all ages that have never entered a fencing competition.

About the club

The Anchorage Fencing Club meets on Monday and Wednesday evenings, from 7:00-9:30PM throughout the year. The Club provides equipment for beginning fencers and for members of the club.

The Anchorage Fencing Club is the oldest club in Anchorage.

The Anchorage Fencing Club is a member run and owned, non-profit group dedicated to the teaching and practice of modern fencing. We are a member of, and insured by, the United States Fencing Association.

The club has three active coaches who are available at most Club meetings and training sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays. We have certified referees for all three weapons used in competition. We also host clinics with visiting fencing masters and FOC Officials.

AFC holds nominations for officers and elections each year at the July business meeting and barbeque.
